"that chinchulin is the shit"- day 1

our bedroom view to the thermal pool

After giving the front desk Frankie's credit card information we were escorted up to our room. We arrived at exactly 2:00 pm.- just in time for lunch. We quickly went upstairs and put our bathing suits and robes on. In one of the pictures below you can see our suite, but that  picture was taken after we scattered all our things- we all know by now that Frankie doesn't travel light.

our room.
Lunch everyday was a criollo buffet. Basically a big-ass buffet. After a 30 min drive and a hectic morning we were ready to eat.

Sergio serving the next table

We were a little confused at first when we arrived. All we wanted to do was get to the hot springs as son as possible. A waiter called Sergio came up to us and gave us a panorama of the whole thing. After lunch we were supposed to coordinate our daily massages at the front desk, as well as any other activity we wanted to do like hiking, rappel or zip-line. We also discovered that the water park, that was about a 5 minute walk from there was included in our stay so we had free access.

our first meal
Frankie had more meat and tried the chinchulines: "the meat here is superb, and the chinchilin is to die for." Frankie mixed up chinchulin and molleja- sweet bread. Chinchulin is intestines. In Paraguay the insides are cleaned to get all the "shit" out. Not in Argentina, intestines are grilled shit and all.

So after lunch we had to go all the way to the massage house. Now, we had no idea where to go and the instructions we were given were very simple: go past the chapel and the paddle court. In our current state of excitement and confusion we got a little lost. The hotel was filled with little rock lines paths that people took. Not really the guests but the staff.

In this video you will see us trying to get to the massage place house

I later noticed that the people in his video were part of the staff. The staff house to the left is where the staff stays if they miss their bus of if they live to far away to go home every night.

We took some pictures of the chapel. Frankie says that the cross that was hanging over the alter inside was the cross of St. Damiano.  It was pretty big and had a lot of detail. The chapel is part of the original construction.

After planning our weekend, massages and all we had a full schedule:  trekking, rappel and zip lining. We went back to our room, still digesting the afternoon's feast at the buffet and took a nap before we hit the hot springs!
